Last Sunday’s ride attracted ten participants with Bruce getting into the spirit of Boardwalk Empire and riding on some classy new wheels purchased with beer.
In cloudy but fine weather, with a light headwind, the ride followed rough Northbank Road to Bellingen from Urunga and then northwest to Gleniffer through a hilly but beautifully forested countryside. Gleniffer Church is the scene of many local weddings but as most members have experienced this ceremony on several occasions there was no reason to dally.
Five riders then continued to Thora. The legends that will eventually be forthcoming from their exploits will have to wait as your correspondent did not accompany them but turned tail with the remaining riders and sought the legal caffeine injector station at the Old Butter Factory. There, stories were swapped on the foibles and bad habits of the riders who were not present to defend themselves.
No flat tyres, accidents or mechanical incidents were reported.
