The weather gods were shining down on us for our Anzac weekend ride. With the weather predictions no one thought there even would be a ride. How wrong we all were. While nine rode from Urunga out to Bello via South Arm road, another three chose the ‘easier’ route to Bello via Hyde’s Creek Road. Whichever the route, it was a stunning autumn day and sunshine all around.

Sunday 19th April ride report – one group stayed local while another smaller, but quality group went north.

The former bakers dozen headed to the Sawtell velodrome for a quick couple of laps before settling in for coffee, cake and chats at the Link Cafe, enjoying the gorgeous autumn sunshine to the sounds of the water feature. Ahhh, the serenity.

Meanwhile our smaller, more adventurous group were assisted in their quest to Whoopi with a fine tail wind! Ah, the pleasure of a tailwind. But alas, a tailwind to coffee can only ever result in a headwind home.

Regardless of destination, we yet again achieved the desired outcome of excellent rides, great company and of course – coffee and cake
