The summer heat did not deter eighteen riders from enjoying a swift ride up the Pacific Highway to Sawtell on Sunday 16th. We enjoyed the company of some visitors from the Gold Coast and Sydney and caught up with some Coffs Harbour riders.
As it turned out we spent more time on our break for coffee than in riding. It was obviously a very popular venue; hence the service was exceptionally slow. However, bike riders of our ‘kind’ are also very good talkers. But, a two-hour stop, proved a little trying even for the most tolerant. ED, forever enthusiastic alleviated the ‘situation’ as best he could, by waitressing with the support of Dave.
We look forward to next week’s tried and true Northbank/South Arm Loop. We can depend on efficient service and excellent coffee in Bellingen! For further details please refer to the revised ride program by clicking here.

Maybe if you had made a booking or at least advised the cafe that you were intending to show up Sunday things may have been different. Unfortunately your group impacted on at least 20 other customers who DID make a booking. You DID not wait 2 hours. And you Did put extreme pressure on the staff. All of this may have been avoided if someone had notified the cafe that you were intending to visit. Sorry that our service was not up to your standards. But we did have other customers who we believe were just as important as your group. All of our staff went above and beyond to accomodate your unannounced group. None of you waited 2 hours for service (unless you arrived there at 8am). Our cafe takes prides in quality service, food and beverages. We do not claim to provide fast food. We believe there are enough fast food outlets on the Coffs coast.
