Super Sunday bike count Sun 13 Dec. 2015 – seeking volunteers

Seeking volunteers for the Super Sunday Bike Count – Sunday 13th Dec 2015

Background

Coffs Harbour City Council (CHCC) plans to conduct its third recreational bike count on Sunday 13th December 2015.  The survey is used to provide baseline data for planning, complementing the ‘Super Tuesday’ commuter data collected in September over the past four years.  The data gives a ‘snapshot’ of recreational bike riding numbers and flows (preferred routes) across the Coffs Harbour Local Government Area. This can be compared on an annual basis, allowing bike riding decisions and planning to be based on accurate, up to date information.

The Role

CHCC is seeking volunteers to assist with our third annual Super Sunday recreational bike count. Volunteers will count bicycle movements over four hours on Sunday 13th December, 6:00 am to 8:00 am and 10am to 12pm, at 18 sites.

Volunteers can work in pairs and an information package will be sent out providing background, safety guidelines, instructions, maps and tally sheets.

All volunteers will receive a café gift voucher for refreshments during the morning.

If you are interested in volunteering for the count this year, please contact Anne Shearer, Coffs Harbour City Council: anne.shearer@chcc.nsw.gov.au  tel: 02 66 484 414
