DUBBUG Ride Report – 19 October 2014

Today’s ride was split.  One group headed to Valla Beach as part of a community celebration – Lark in the Park – and the other group headed into Coffs Harbour.  For the group that went to Coffs Harbour (Phil, Herb, Dave, Mark & Dave S.), the normal planned ride was changed so that it included a visit to Alan at Baringa Hospital.  Alan has been patiently waiting for specialised care since last week, due to a biking accident he had recently in Vietnam.  You can read about the incident on our web site at www.dubbug.org.au and refer to the post of Day 9 in Vietnam.  After the visit, we headed to Home Base, then along the beach route to the new south breakwall of the Jetty.  Dave showed us the back route through to Boambee and then the cycle trail to Lyons Road, where he left us to continue making a speedy return to Mailman’s Track on a tail wind.

Next Sunday’s ride is medium difficulty ride at 8am from Urunga BP to Nambucca Heads, via Hungry Head and return via the Highway. A distance of about 55km, the group will have coffee in Nambucca Heads. Our weekday rides leave every Wednesday and Friday from Urunga BP at 8am.
